Plastic tooling tailored to your workpieces.
FORMACT complements your metalworking processes with custom plastic soft jaws, protective jaws, workpiece carriers and gauges. Parts are tailored to the intended clamping, inspection or handling task.
Made to suit your task. With CAD data or a description of your requirements.

The right contact surfaces around machining.
Between raw stock, machining and inspection, a workpiece is picked up and set down several times. Contoured plastic parts can help at these stages: a protective jaw for assembly, a nest for temporary storage or a gauge for a defined feature. We consider the specific use, contact surfaces and existing mounting to develop suitable tooling.
Soft jaws and clamping aids
Workpiece-specific jaws reproduce defined contact contours. The specific clamping task, forces and environment are considered when selecting geometry and material.
Grippers & workpiece holdingProtective jaws for assembly and finishing
Applied contact pieces fit existing holders and workpiece surfaces. Separate flexible inserts can be added at selected contact points.
Grippers & workpiece holdingGauges and simple inspection holders
Contour gauges or holders with defined datums support specific inspection steps. Drill jigs can be supplied assembled with metal bushes and the intended locating elements.
Gauges & inspection toolsWorkpiece carriers between process steps
Shaped nests organise different parts and provide clear placement positions. Finger recesses and open gripping areas follow handling requirements at the workstation.
Production aids & fixturesAdapters and accessory holders
Custom holders connect accessories to existing mounting points. Connection dimensions, tool access and the required removal direction determine the plastic geometry.
Retrofits & adapter partsSimple assemblies for the specific task.
We manufacture plastic bodies and, on request, add bushes, threaded inserts, screws or locating pins to create a simple unit. Existing CAD data is prepared; simple jaws, gauges and holders are designed to clear specifications. Details of forces, swarf and media used help us agree on the technical requirements.

Helping your processes work together.
Match contact surfaces to the contour
Contact surfaces can follow the workpiece shape and accommodate areas requiring clearance. Geometry follows the actual handling or clamping step.
Present parts in an organised way
Workpiece carriers give components a defined placement position and orientation. Shape and markings identify different variants.
Complement tooling precisely
Custom inserts and holders can be matched to existing base bodies. Their application and mounting are agreed together.
Materials for complementary plastic tooling.
Rigid carriers define the contact contour, while flexible pads shape individual contact points. The material is selected according to the clamping task, loads and media in the operating environment.

Additively manufactured parts for your workshop.
FDM offers possibilities for jaws, carriers and custom brackets. Resin complements it for smaller, detailed gauges and inserts. We tailor manufacturing to component function and the agreed operating conditions.
Which process step is missing the right tooling?
Show us the workpiece and holder or describe the workflow. CAD data, drawings and dimensioned photos help us agree on contact geometry, material and mounting.
